Michael and Sue commenced their franchise in September, 1995 as a young couple with three very young children. Michael had given up his career as an accountant to focus on his family, to make a lifestyle change and to work together with Sue. Michael and Sue were in actual fact the 3rd Franchise sold in NSW. It is an absolute credit to them and their determination they way in which they have managed their business from their home in Karriong on the Central Coast. Our first Christmas party as Bizzi Beez franchisee’s was a get together with only about 5 teams. We have not only seen our network grow in that time but also have had the honour of watching Mike and Sue’s three children GROW AND GROW AND GROW. Nathan is now over 6 feet tall. Here is a photo of a very useful Michael and a partly submerged Nathan – who has grown to become a swimming champion – we can see he was already on the way to becoming a champion.
The important thing about this family is the immense sense of family that they have always been able to achieve. Having a franchise has meant that they can be available to their children every afternoon. Michael even acted as the soccer coach not only for the boys but the girls as well.
In 2001 Michael and Susan received the highest level of award by becoming Franchise Of The Year. Their outstanding contribution has been well recognised, the loyalty of their customers is dazzling, their commitment to the business is commendable. Some of their customers have been with them for 10 years – this is the essence of a good business – Customer Retention.
One of the outstanding characteristics of this family is their sense of community, the sense of fellowship and the sense of humanity, which Michael and Susan have instilled in their children. “Help one another, help your family and help the community” could well be the motto that surrounds this exceptional family. Both Susan and Michael lost one of their parents to cancer and their children immediately took up the challenge to raise money to support Cancer Research. Heartbreaking as it was, they worked hard to not only to raise money but also raise awareness, their grandparents must be very proud of their efforts.
The children’s achievements have been made possible by their parents, who support them in every way. Their business allows them to take time off in school holidays and attend the special carnivals and functions that their children have to attend.
Nathan – Qualified in the NSW State Long Distance in November, 2005 for the 1500m and he was only 15 years old.
Amanda – Qualified in the NSW state Long Distance in November, 2005 for 800m and she is only 13 years old.
Brittany – has qualified for the past 2 years in NSW State in Short and Long Course carnivals for 50m and 100m and 200m backstroke and then run 8th in the state in the 100m. Brittany has also for the past 2 years qualified for NSW Country champions for the same evens and came 7th in the 100m backstroke.
All three children were in the Gosford RSL Swim Club team that won Zone 6 Carnivals – 2 years running.
All three children have recently made the Central Coast representative sides for under 14’s and under 16’s in Waterpolo.
Nathan and Amanda within their high School have been involved over the last few years in a Leadership program with which they had to complete tasks including a complex task which involved them raising money for charity. They achieved this by organising prizes and running raffles, which raised $1,300 and $1,400. The both received Leadership Awards which were presented on Presentation nights at their school.
Susan and Michael have also been able to take their children away on a number of exciting family holidays – Disneyland during the Olympics, Bali and on the last occasion their adventures took them to Europe and England.
